Our Principal, Yolanda Wang, just returned from the 1st China Pharmaceutical Innovation Conference (CPIC 2026) in Shanghai, held from July 22–24!

It was a pleasure to attend CPIC 2026 together with fellow HKBMIA members and connect with biotech innovators from around the world. Many thanks to HKBMIA for the invitation and the opportunity to engage with industry partners. Hong Kong continues to play an important role in connecting Mainland China with the global life sciences community.

Bringing together over 10,000 participants, CPIC highlighted the strong momentum behind cross-border biopharma innovation and collaboration. It was great to see so many discussions focused on advancing healthcare innovation and building new partnerships across borders. The strong presence of AI-related healthcare and drug development initiatives was particularly impressive and reflected the rapid evolution of China’s innovation ecosystem. As IP professionals, we are reminded of the important role that IP plays in supporting innovation and bringing new technologies to market.
