Our founder Dr. Jacqueline Lui (Jackie) started Eagle IP anchored by the guiding principle from Isaiah 40:30 “"... those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles...”
Eagles soar effortlessly when in flight because they are held up by the wind. The Bible says those who hope in the LORD have renewed strength, allowing them to soar effortlessly on wings like eagles. 20 years ago Jackie began Eagle IP as a step of faith. At that time, despite various seemingly insurmountable challenges, Jackie followed where she felt the Lord was leading, and built a very different and unprecedented type of patent firm. Jackie knew she could only do this if she trusted in God.
Through the years Jackie, together with the help of her husband HC, built up an unusual bilateral cross-border team of Chinese and US patent agents/attorneys who worked closely side by side on various projects. Despite the significant added investment and time, Eagle IP has successfully trained up numerous excellent “bicontinental” patent attorneys over the years. Through trusting in God and “hoping in the LORD”, the firm has flourished along its own unique path, soaring with wings like eagles, even while navigating challenging times. Now in its 20th year, Eagle IP continues to invest deeply in its people, training its Chinese and US patent attorneys rigorously in multiple sets of laws and types of projects. The firm emphasizes discipline in setting aside time every week to study the latest cases, analyze legal issues, and teach each other. The tightly integrated teams of US and Chinese patent attorneys work seamlessly together to service both international and domestic clients.
